A Cure In Sight sponsors events through out the year to raise awareness, educate the public and to raise funds for ocular melanoma patients and ongoing research. Our calendar will also list events by other organizations that A Cure In Sight is not directly involved in or benefiting from. Please check our calendar often to find events in your area.
VermilliRun Huntersville NC, April 21st
VermilliRUN is a 5k race that takes runners through the streets of the Vermillion community in Huntersville, NC. The run is in honor of Brian Bowman who passed away from bone cancer in 2014. Brian was a proud member of the Vermillion community who was always eager to lend a helping hand to his neighbors and friends. All proceeds from the race will be donated to A Cure in Sight, founded to raise ocular melanoma awareness and to help those with ocular melanoma find and pay for the treatments they need. Ocular melanoma is a rare eye cancer diagnosed in about 2,500 adults a year, or 5-7.5 new cases in 1 million people. However, in Huntersville there have been 12 victims of this cancer. We run to raise awareness for Huntersville and Ocular Melanoma. We run to support and honor our friends and families who have been touched by cancer. We run for those who no longer can. We run to BEAT CANCER. Text Vermilli to 71777 to register, sponsor or donate or click HERE.
